Next Steps

The following ministry snapshots serve to highlight some next steps you can take toward finding one place to connect and one place to serve here at NPC. We encourage you to take some time to read, then consider where you might connect and serve! Contact ministry leaders below.

CHILDREN

Children's Ministry
Green Pastures Children’s Ministry provides children and their families with a loving, redemptive place to grow, learn and build community. We learn together in Discipleship Hour, Children's Worship and in gathering events and service opportunities throughout the year.
Next Steps: Serve on a rotating basis as a Children's Worship Leader during worship, Nursery Team Leader greeting Nursery families and guiding the operation of our Nursery, Nursery Caregiver welcoming families and caring for children, and Discipleship Hour Leader serving weekly, mostly in small group time focused on relationship building, conversation, crafts and games.

NPCA Preschool
Northwest Presbyterian Christian Academy exists to glorify God and further His kingdom through a Christ-centered preschool.
Next Steps: Pray for our staff, that we would grow in our faith, that we would grow in community with one another, and that we would be bold in sharing the gospel with children and their families. We often have open teaching positions before a new school year begins. Let us know if you are interested in working with us!

STUDENTS

Student Ministry
Stillwater Student Ministries exist to prepare students to walk with Jesus for a lifetime, to train students how to engage with their classmates and communities, and to develop hearts that long to know God and enjoy Him. High school students (9th-12th grade) meet Sundays, (6:30-8:00PM). Middle School students (6th-8th grade) meet Wednesdays (6:30-8:00PM).
Next Steps: Student ministry needs men and women who are growing in their faith to come alongside middle and high school students to fill small group leader and mentorship roles. The ministry also needs volunteers to provide snacks for Stillwater meetings. Finally, we need a prayer team to pray for student ministries and special events.

ADULTS

CGroups
CGroups are small groups that meet regularly in neighborhood homes to help NPC members and friends connect in community, in order that they can grow in maturity, becoming healthier people and more faithful followers of Christ. These groups are open to singles, couples, and families and are designed to incorporate people in any stage of life.
Next Steps: If you are interested in joining a group please contact Patrick Tebbano or Nell Foulke and we can help you connect with a CGroup that meets in your area.

Sunday Discipleship
The purpose of Sunday Discipleship is to provide an opportunity for men and women to meet and to deepen their understanding of God's Word. The adult discipleship classes are usually taught by the pastors and elders and are a great place to learn and discuss together. Classes are offered Sundays at 9:00AM.
Next Steps: As you review the classes each term, we hope you join others in the study of God's Word and applying the gospel to everyday life.

Men’s Ministry: Journey Groups
The Journey is life-on-life missional discipleship, laboring in the lives of a few, with the intention of imparting one’s life, God’s Word and the gospel in such a way as to see men become mature and equipped followers, committed to doing the same in the lives of others. Groups meet Monday nights.

Men’s Ministry: Men’s Fellowship
Outside of Journey groups, the NPC Men's Ministry desires to create places for men to connect in community, celebrate the gospel, and love our city. This can take the form of small group studies, large group gatherings, recreational and service events, and an annual conference.
Next Steps: If you are interested in joining our Men's Ministry team in order to help coordinate events like this, please reach out to Patrick Tebbano.

WORSHIP

Worship Ministry
Our mission is to encourage lives of worship lived in and through a redemptive Christian community. This mission guides how and why we gather: to behold God’s glory, to hear the Word, to build up one another and to be a witness to the gospel.
Next Steps: We are looking for volunteers to lead corporate worship. This includes Worship Team vocalists and instrumentalists – guitars, drums, keys, strings, brass, winds to lead corporate worship about twice a month; Worship Techs including sound, projection and livestream to manage and operate audio, visual and lighting systems; Choir vocalists, including MS/HS students and adults, to lead corporate worship about once a month; and Children’s Choir vocalists, including K-5th grade students, who lead corporate worship about twice a quarter.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Partnership New Member Class
Partnership is NPC’s New Member Class. NPC Pastors teach this Sunday morning class. Membership in a local church helps us achieve the New Testament’s vision for following Christ as a committed partner in a living, loving, serving, community. This class prepares participants to make a public profession of faith in Christ, publicly identify with Christ’s church, and connect to local church ministries. In this class we explore how church membership promotes Christian growth by studying the New Testament book called Philippians.
During the class:
- We explain what the basic Christian message is;
- What partnership in a local church looks like and why it matters;
- How God has gifted each member for ministry;
- How God matures Christians in community over time.
Next Steps: Partnership is the simplest way to learn about NPC’s story, mission and core values. We encourage you to join us for the next class offering! After the class, if you decide the time is right to join NPC, we’ll facilitate a conversation with a pastor or elder.

Prayer
Individual and corporate prayer is foundational for all ministries of our church.
The Prayer Team prays regularly for our church family, our leaders and staff, our ministries, our missionaries, our country and much more. We are convinced that God works through the prayers of His people. Anyone who is part of our church family is welcome to join us at our weekly prayer meeting, Wednesdays at 3PM.
Contact: Bill Diedrich at wmdiedrich@gmail.com
The Prayer Chain is a way for congregants to support each other in prayer through email requests sent out as needs arise. If you have a prayer concern that you would like to share for community prayer, please see contact information below.

Hospitality
At the center of our church life together is corporate worship. On any given Sunday, we need around 40 different volunteers to serve in a variety of ways. As a church that highly values being hospitable, volunteers that greet, usher, make coffee, prepare communion and serve on our security team are an invaluable part of Sunday mornings here.
Greeters are friendly and welcoming to newcomers and regular attenders on Sunday morning at the front door. They answer questions, give directions, and generally help people feel seen and loved. Volunteers serve approximately once per quarter.
Ushers help individuals and families find seats, navigate the building and tidy up the Worship Center. Ushers serve approximately 2-3 times per quarter.
Next Steps: In addition to adding to the regular rotation of volunteers, we are also looking for extra volunteers for special events such as Easter Sunday, Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, etc.

MISSIONS

Mission Team
The Mission Team helps to support and promote local, regional and global missions. The team coordinates and initiates missions programs and assists missionaries.
Globally – in Berlin, Germany, NPC supports the Eastman and Elmerick families who are both involved in church planting. In Haiti, NPC supports Living Hope Ministries which provides education and vocational training for K-12 students. In Nagoya, Japan, NPC supports Rachel Bauserman and Shori and Saki Sunagawa who work with Japanese youth and missionary children. In South Asia, NPC supports Michelle Walsh who works as a medical missionary.
Locally – NPC partners with a number of ministries as we seek to love our city. We partner with New Path Pregnancy Resource Centers in reaching women, men and their families who find themselves in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy, parenting education and needs, and post-abortion recovery. We partner with One Dublin, who serves neighbors in Dublin who are temporarily in need by aiming to ensure that people's basic needs are met with compassion and dignity. We partner with Stowe Mission as they serve those with hunger, healthcare, and education challenges with the vision that they would grow into leaders who help others trust Jesus and thrive in their community.

Campus Outreach Columbus
Campus Outreach Columbus engages, builds relationships with, and challenges students on multiple Ohio college campuses to believe and to grow in Christ. Christian college students gather regularly for fellowship and gospel-centered teaching.
Next Steps: We often need volunteers at catalytic events - referees for sports tournaments, extra hands to pass out welcome bags or even people to just talk and interact with students. Also, if you are in a CGroup that wants to minister to college students, we would love to have you host an after-church lunch! Once a month our ministry tries to gather after worship to enjoy a meal together and connect. Finally, we would ask you to consider becoming a prayer partner. Sign up to receive ministry updates and join a group of faithful prayer warriors to lift up and encourage our ministry.

English Language Learners (ELL)
The guiding vision of English Language Learners is to go into all the world to share the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20), to increase the scope of women reached across multiple geographic backgrounds, level of proficiency in English, and to deepen the relationships students and volunteers have with God. ELL meets Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 AM and follows the Dublin School calendar. Anyone is welcome to participate, though it has been predominantly women.
Next Steps: Volunteers are needed to help facilitate conversation and build cultural competence during the ELL class. Volunteers are also needed as Conversation Partners who meet one on one with students to develop relationships through English practice and friendship. Additionally, volunteers are needed to provide childcare on a substitute basis. All volunteers are enriched by learning about other cultures, making friends with non-believers, and deepening relationships with other volunteers.

Foster Care Ministry
The Foster Care Ministry is designed to support the foster care community as a whole, educate others about the purpose and function of foster care, and stir hearts, as God calls, to provide stable and loving temporary homes to children separated from their families.
Next Steps: Our Foster Parent Date Night event needs individuals who are willing to serve foster families by caring for their children (ages 1-15) for 2 1/2 hours a few Friday evenings per year while their parents get some much needed adult time! This is a great opportunity to make foster care "real" by engaging with foster youth and their families. Children of volunteers are welcome to join, making this a unique opportunity to serve together and to grow in relationships with other NPC families.

Impact West Virginia
Impact WV is an opportunity to share the gospel in word and deed by volunteering in West Virginia. Teams participate in a construction project to help those in need. Projects include painting, handicap accessibility, plumbing, general handiwork, and more. Teams also have the opportunity to lead a VBS, visit residents in nursing homes, or participate in other community outreach projects. Impact WV is a great fit for a wide range of people. Individuals middle school age and up may participate, and families are welcome. Project weeks run through June and July each summer.
Next Steps: We need people who, first and foremost, have a heart to see the gospel go forward! We could use people who are handy or have a background in fixing up homes. Volunteers to help with VBS and to serve in the kitchen throughout the week are also helpful!

Young Life Capernaum
Young Life Capernaum exists to build relationships with teens with disabilities (ages 14 to 22) with the hopes of getting to share the gospel with them and help them grow in their faith. We want to see the Lord glorified within the abundant disability community that is present in Dublin, and as they come to know Christ, reunite them to the larger body of Christ, helping to build a more complete picture of the church.
Next Steps: We are always looking for more buddies! Buddies are any caring individual 14+ who has a desire to live out their faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus, providing fellowship to young adults with disabilities and helping to meet their individual needs as they try to engage in activities like a Bible study or group games and activities. We also need leaders (especially men!)-- A volunteer leader is someone with the heart of a missionary, willing to commit 5-10 hrs weekly to build friendships with adolescents with disabilities, with the hopes of getting to share Christ with them and begin discipling them. Additionally, we invite you to attend the Many Members Sunday Discipleship Class in partnership with the 23plus ministry!

23Plus
23plus is a Bible study designed for those with disabilities who are 23 years old or older. We meet Sundays, 6:30-7:30PM.
Next Steps: We are looking for women and men who desire to come alongside young adults with disabilities. Could you grab coffee? Talk sports? Text? Be a friend? We also need substitutes to fill in as leaders when Barbara and Lewis cannot be there. It’s so fun and requires only a willing spirit!
